The inaugural Careers Expo 2024 will be held as part of the ITS Australia Summit 2024 and is an opportunity for students from member universities to explore dynamic careers and connect with potential employers in Australia’s exciting and diverse intelligent transport sector.

At the Careers Expo, students will fully immerse themselves in the dynamic ITS industry by spending a day at the prestigious ITS Australia Summit, the largest annual gathering of ITS professionals in Australia.

This free event is a must attend for students studying transport or related disciplines such as engineering, computer science, urban planning and design, logistics and supply chain management.

The Careers Expo is also a fantastic opportunity for businesses to meet the next generation of ITS leaders and ensure you're bringing the best and brightest students from leading Australian universities into your organisation.

What is ITS?

Learn more about the intelligent transport sector

ITS stands for Intelligent Transport Systems and can be explained as the use of advanced technologies to enhance the safety, sustainability and efficiency of transport systems. It’s a vast ecosystem of technology that powers all transportation types – from the vehicles on our roads, to public transport systems, to rail and sea travel as well as the infrastructure networks that support these modes of transport.

As transport users, we interact with ITS solutions every day, whether it’s traffic lights and other digital traffic signage, the ticketing systems we use to take public transport, in-road sensors technology that send data and information to traffic management centres, and the increasingly advanced in-vehicle features such as GPS, lane assist, that make our cars safer.

ITS is a highly regarded skill set that spans traditional engineering, data analytics, and policy development and so much more, offering diverse career opportunities both domestically and internationally. Through ITS, we're not just envisioning the transport systems of tomorrow; we're actively shaping them.

Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Australia is the peak body for advanced transport technology in Australia.

Australia is a global leader in intelligent transport, and ITS Australia works on behalf of more than 145 member organisations to promote the development and deployment of technologies that enable all Australians to move more safely, efficiently, and sustainably through the nation’s transport networks.

Our key activities include convening national and international conferences, facilitating dialogue between transport modes and across government jurisdictions, promoting research and development, and supporting the export of Australian technologies.
