Micro Connect has developed the new Vpriority traffic signal green light / green arrow priority system which has been operating successfully in customer field trials in the Northern Territory. Vpriority combines purpose built in-vehicle tracking devices with precision GPS and 4G mobile comms, along with the Vpriority server software to track vehicle journeys on a digital twin of the road network. Vpriority understands the state of the traffic signal network via the SCATS ITS port interface, and makes intelligent traffic signal priority requests to traffic signal priority enabling systems such as Transport for NSW SCATS Cornerstone / Priority Engine and Transmax STREAMS EVP.
