What are Special Interest Sessions (SIS)
 
Create your own 60-90 min session at the ITS Australian Summit – curate the topic, content, speakers, and moderator. These sessions, requested by organizations or experts in ITS, provide an open forum for discussions and debates. They should be interactive, tailored, and offer fresh perspectives.

Review of SIS Submissions

To ensure a diverse range of sessions, SIS submissions must adhere to more stringent selection criteria.

Submissions must include moderator details and comprehensive information for at least three confirmed speakers.

Priority will be given to sessions that address broad thematic areas over single-project submissions. Please note that submissions lacking the specified details for three confirmed speakers will not be considered.

Your SIS Submission

SIS Abstract Format and Questions

  • You need to have at least 3 confirmed presenters to complete the online SIS submission (includes speaker details, their photo, and bio)
  • You can submit details for a session coordinator, as well as a Session Moderator
  • Provide 250 word abstract, written as a paragraph of text (no bullets, graphs, tables)
  • Provide 50 word snap shot summary
  • Provide website relevant to your submission, if applicable
  • Only submissions via the Abstract Submission Portal will be accepted


In Person Presentation from the Lectern

All presentations are intended to be in-person.


SIS Session Format

Most SIS sessions will be scheduled within the Breakout Sessions, ranging from 60 to 90 mins. The format is flexible, allowing organisers to run sessions as they see fit.
 
 
Review of Submissions

An external panel evaluates submissions based on research/project quality and the clarity of content. Successful SIS proposals will be short-listed, and organisers must complete registration by 31 May 2024.
 

Registration of all involved (SIS organiser, moderator, speakers)

All involved in the SIS proposal must be registered and pay a fee. Discounts available for speakers, moderators, and organisers. Fee is payable upon receiving notification that your abstract has been accepted and you have been asked to complete speaker registration. Speaker/moderator/organiser registration should be completed by 31 May 2024.

University Students: Student speakers of ITS Australia member organisations are eligible for 50% discount, please indicate your student status on the abstract submission form and provide ITS Australia with a copy of your Student Card: admin@its-australia.com.au
