Professional Bio

Dr. Shamsunnahar (Shams) Yasmin is a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow working at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). She is uniquely positioned across three faculties within QUT, including the Faculty of Health, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Business and Law. She also serves in an honorary Adjunct Faculty position at the University of Central Florida. She has received her PhD from McGill University; MSc from University of Calgary, and an undergrad from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. All of her degrees are in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. At QUT, she is the lead researcher in developing interdisciplinary analytical frameworks employing advanced econometric models to quantify the impacts of disruptions on travel behaviour and road safety. Dr. Yasmin is serving on the editorial board of several top journals, including the Journal of Analytic Methods in Accident Research and Scientific Reports – Nature Portfolio and Transportation Research Record.
