Mr Kolitha is a qualified and an experienced automotive engineer counting over 17 years of experience in the automotive industry and the insurance sector. Currently he is the President of the Institute of Insurance Motor Assessors and Engineers of Sri Lanka and also positioned as Course Director as well as the General Secretary of the Institute of Automotive Engineers of Sri Lanka. 

 

Further he is a well reputed lecturer counting over 15 years of lecturing experience for professional examinations in the field of engineering and management and recognized as a professional industrial trainer in the sector. He has also operated as engineering, business management consultant and also a founding chairman of Meridian group. He, successfully completed the WCS of his PhD recently from the Management Science University Malaysia, conducting his research work in the area of determining the factors of road traffic accident and incident management system in Sri Lanka. He has also published a number of research papers in an international forums, conferences, journals in engineering management scopes including technical advancement in automotive, motor insurance field, etc and chaired local and international engineering symposiums.

 

He holds an MBA from the University of Wolverhampton UK and completed his first Degree, B Eng ( Automotive Systems Engineering, also from the same university with a first class division. Mr Kolitha possesses several certificates, diploma in Automotive Engineering Maintenance Management from City Guilds ( Engineering Council, National Institute of Business Management (Sri Lanka) and awardee of a medal for the excellence in Motor Vehicle Management 2007 from City Guilds ( was the winner of the first place in the world for the academic year 2007 in the stream of motor vehicle engineering. He is a fellow of IAESL, IMI UK and member of Charted professional Managers of SL, City Guilds UK Institute of Engineering Technology UK several other professional organizations. He also He has held number of senior positions by heading various operations as CEO, Director, Consultant, Head of Operation, Assistant General Manager and Chief Motor Engineer positions in different organisations. Currently he is serving as the Managing Director of Meridian group and director/ consultant of the RTA associates, consultant/ lecturer of Meridian auto care Ltd, and training institute.
